Hi, I’m Hannah - an ocean photographer based on the Sunshine Coast.
I’ve spent years capturing the beauty of the ocean at sunrise, and I created this 1:1 experience to share the magic with you.
Whether you’re exploring water photography for the first time or seeking a creative reset, I’ll be there to guide you every step of the way.
What’s included in the 4 hour session

Meet at the beach before sunrise
We’ll start in the early hours, arriving before first light to talk through the session, go over ocean safety, and set up the camera gear together.

Full equipment provided
Don’t worry if you don’t have gear. I’ll provide a professional DSLR camera, water housing, and all necessary accessories. You just bring your wetsuit and your sense of adventure.

Swim + shoot at sunrise
We’ll head into the ocean together during golden hour, when the light is magic and the waves are alive. I’ll guide you through capturing moments in the water - framing, focus, timing, and more.

Editing session
After our swim, we’ll refresh at a local cafe. Bring your laptop and I’ll walk you through my personal editing process. You’ll leave with your own ocean photos, beautifully edited and ready to share.

While I will use my experience and expertise to choose the best conditions for us, sometimes the weather can be unpredictable and we may need to reschedule. I will confirm this with you 24 hours prior.

This experience is designed for photographers who already have a basic understanding of camera settings like shutter speed, aperture, and ISO. Shooting in the ocean adds a whole new level of complexity to photography, so while I’ll be there to guide you, it’s important that you already feel comfortable using your camera in manual mode. If you’re just starting out, I’d recommend building your confidence on land first - then joining me in the water once you’re ready to take that next step.

That depends on the time of year! In summer the sunrise can be as early as 4:44 am and in winter can be as late as 6:38 am. We will meet one hour before sunrise to give us plenty of time to go over everything before getting in the water

The investment for this experience is AUD $450.

That really depends on the conditions. We need lots of things to line up to create a great experience including light winds and small swell, so please be aware that we may have to wait a few weeks before shooting. As soon as you enquire, I’ll look to find the best date for us to shoot.

You’ll need to bring a wetsuit (or whatever you’d like to wear in the water), fins if you have them, a towel, and a memory device of some kind to take your photos home on (USB or SD card). If you have a laptop with Adobe Lightroom then please bring that as well. I will provide your camera and housing, and fins if you don’t have any.

Sessions will take place at either Sunshine Beach or Coolum. If you would like to shoot somewhere else, please contact me directly.

I’ll set you up with my Nikon Z6III mirrorless camera and a 50mm lens with a flat port inside a premium Aquatech water housing. I’ll also bring along another housing with a wide angle lens and dome port for you to try as well.

If you don’t have access to a laptop with Adobe Lightroom, not to worry. I’ll bring mine for you to use. Just remember to bring a USB or SD card for me to transfer your images to you.

Safety is the number one priority so it is essential that you are comfortable swimming in the ocean and ducking under waves so that you can do so with a camera in hand. If you’re not there yet, I’d recommend spending some time in the ocean without a camera to get more comfortable first.
